The Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN) is a diverse coalition composed of international development practitioners, development institutions, think tanks, and the private sector that advocates for more effective U.S. foreign assistance. MFAN was created to build upon the bipartisan consensus that the U.S. should play a global leadership role in achieving economic growth, reducing poverty and promoting locally-led development, and that the U.S. can play that role more effectively, efficiently, and transparently. Job Description:

The MFAN Communications Intern will support the Policy Director with the coalition's external communications, with a particular focus on social media. The intern will draft communications, including social media posts, website content, and press statements, to raise MFAN's visibility among its target audiences and drive MFAN's advocacy agenda with Congress and the Administration.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft social media posts, statements, blogs, and other social media and website content regarding the work of MFAN.
  • Provide general communications assistance.


Education and Experience:

  • Recently completed or in-progress of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, International Development or related field
  • Interest in international development
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong familiarity with Twitter and LinkedIn and social media best practices
