Application Specialist 1 - Pressure Relief

Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for an Application Specialist 1 - Pressure Relief position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.

Job Summary:

The Application Specialist 1 - Pressure Relief will provide guidance to help size, select, sell, troubleshoot and technically support Pressure Relief solutions with our sales partners. They will also specifically be responsible for the feasibility, pricing, and lead-time of non-standard Pressure Relief solutions. They will perform routine work following prescriptive methods and will apply basic application knowledge under the guidance of more senior team members. In order to perform a broad range of varied and demanding assignments within the applications area, work requires the application of a comprehensive knowledge of systems, procedures, customers, products and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Provides application, product, installation, and troubleshooting consultation to Fike customers and internal teams.

2. Maintains broad working knowledge of Fike products, applications, services, prices, policies and procedures.

3. Maintains awareness of industry standards, codes, and industry accepted practices.

4. Maintains basic knowledge of sales, customer service, engineering, and other related internal department functions and structure.

5. Prepares documentation and design submittal packages for Fike Customers.

6. Reviews and analyzes basic customer applications and provides appropriate solutions with the sales team and/or customers through product selection, and quote/ proposal creation assistance and/or through written evaluation or recommendation.

7. Participates in daily support call rotation and non-business hour emergency assistance to provide prompt, courteous commercial and technical support.

8. Utilizes Fike internal systems to carry out daily tasks and support (CRM, CPQ, PLM, calculation tools, ERP, etc.).

9. Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed and quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.

10. Demonstrates good written and spoken ability to articulate value and integration of our product within a customer's specific

application and provide support.

11. Gathers data for and utilizes the internal design review process, with appropriate departments, in order to to understand feasibility, development, and pricing of basic non-standard products.

11. Gathers data for and coordinates the product return evaluation process and report preparation with appropriate departments.

13. Provides good customer service support; including prompt responses to customers and meeting customer commitments.

14. Gathers information to resolve customer-facing issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to Fike policies.

14. Works under general supervision of more senior level associates and the department manager.

15. Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the environment is general office work and the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit and use hands. Domestic and international travel, as needed.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree (Prefer Business or related) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in technical sales, technical product support, project management, applications, pressure relief or related industries. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, primarily national, as needed. US permanent residency required for access to ITAR/ export controlled information (if applicable to job function).

PREFERRED: Two years or more of experience in technical sales, technical product support, project management, applications, pressure relief or related industries. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google software. Experience with Salesforce platform.
