Position Summary/General Description:

2-2-3 Schedule from 5:45pm to 6:00am - Perform, in a learning capacity, various job duties and tasks in one of four areas of composite production/manufacturing process (Resin, Filming, Prepreg, Finishing/Packing). Acquire skills in production machinery set-up, safe operation, monitoring and preventative maintenance. Train to identify accepted quality control standards. Acquire skills to promote into higher job classification levels. May move/transport materials. Generally, will not remain in this job classification for more than one year.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Set up and validate production machinery for proper operation. Assist with machine operation to ensure smooth and efficient running and production of quality products. Utilize a variety of hand tools to accomplish primary job functions. Obtain materials required for production run. Learn to operate production equipment computer interface and process monitoring systems. Assist in the inspection of products during production runs. Perform job tasks according to schedules using established safe methods and processes. Work with others to achieve an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Clean machine to ensure proper running and operation. Create and/or complete necessary production related paperwork. Additional Functions Participate in shift turnover process. Maintain work area(s) in a clean and orderly condition. Operate equipment including forklift, hoist, etc. to move materials and supplies. Participate in team meetings. Perform other related production duties as assigned. This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the Associate. Job Complexity This is the entry-level, training position in this job family. Typically will perform duties of a routine or repetitive nature. Will be considered "in training" in the basic production skills and in specific company procedures and practices while preparing for movement into a higher level position. Works under close supervision. Typically operates from established and well-known written procedures or instructions. Errors in work or judgment will generally have little impact on company operations. Contacts are usually with immediate associates and own supervisor. Generally will be assigned to one of four production areas Specific Job Skills Ability to learn to operate one or more types of customized production equipment to manufacture company products. Ability to learn to operate power equipment such as forklifts, hoists, etc., and to learn to use a variety of hand tools and measuring devices. Ability to utilize/operate a computer, peripheral equipment and applicable software. Ability to learn production standards and specifications. Ability to learn to verify the accuracy of data entry inputs/outputs. Position requires the ability to read and understand diagrams. Ability to learn safety techniques, practices and procedures for handling hazardous materials. Learn record keeping techniques and procedures. Ability to achieve "QA Delegated Inspector Qualification" and other area Production Certifications as required.

Education/Experience

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Previous production experience desired

Requirements Mental and Physical Requirements Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to utilize interpersonal and teamwork skills, perform basic mathematical computations, follow directions and to understand and apply work specifications in the completion of work tasks. The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists is frequent. Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Job requires the ability to stand for up to 12 hours. Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight. Ability to be physically mobile and to climb stairs. Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. Ability to be respirator fit and wear respirator if required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation. Education/Experience High school degree or GED required.
