A week in the life of aSurface Ship Modernization SPIR;COORDINATOR:

  • Provide Administrative support services to NSWC-PD Department 20 Machinery Programs and Platforms.
  • Specialize in System/Software Problem/Improvement Report (SPIR)Coordination support for Surface Ships undergoing maintenance availabilities.
  • Accurately Input handwritten SPIR reports into the approved NSWC-PD SPIR Tracking Tool
  • Continuously monitor the SPIR Tracking Tool Database
  • Provide weekly SPIR reports to the customer
  • Utilization of SPIR Tracking Sheets and Databases to meet SURFMEPP product value stream by working closely with:
  • Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Modernization Coordination Office
  • TYCOMM
  • SURFMEPP Community / NAVSEA

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing System/Software Problem/Improvement Report (SPIR) OR JIRA, R-Supply, One Touch, NALCOMMIS or OMMS-NG coordination for surface ships undergoing maintenance availabilities.
  • 2 years of experience in the utilization of tracking spreadsheets and databases.
  • Specialize in Quality Assurance
  • This Position requires an active Secret security clearance.

The team provides support to Surface Ship Managers for Modernization Advance Planning, Availability Execution oversight, Engineering and Logistics support, and other Fleet Modernization Program (FMP) services.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $57,000 - $67,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
