The Associate Coordinator - Climate Resilient Infrastructure (CRI) will be responsible for the reporting, the document management, and process management of the day-to-day coordination and administration of our community-based infrastructure development work in the greater Seattle area to support the program processes and ensure compliance with our agreement with our client.

We are seeking a self-starter with a bachelor's degree or the equivalent experience providing a working knowledge of sustainable design and project management principles related to site infrastructure. The ability and motivation to integrate social equity principles in the work, and a strong motivation to care for the underserved communities are essential attributes of this role.

This is an exciting, long-term opportunity to support a stormwater infrastructure program of significant scope and scale.

This position reports to CIS's Market Director for the Pacific Northwest Region.

Key Responsibilities:

This is an entry level position where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in various aspects working with our RainCity Partnerships team in Seattle, WA - gaining hands-on experience and valuable insights into climate resiliency, green stormwater infrastructure, race and social justice, and community outreach. You will work closely with our team, assisting with various tasks, and contributing your unique perspective to ongoing program development. The key responsibilities include:

  • Provide coordination and administrative support to the Market Director of the region, ensuring the team can optimize time to focus on key priorities.
  • Support the Community Engagement Director in coordination and scheduling efforts for outreach events and the Mentorship Program.
  • Coordinate the program's email correspondence by addressing general inquiries or directing them to the relevant team member.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support program development.
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm creative ideas and solutions.
  • Support in the preparation of presentation and graphic materials.
  • Assist with generating content for social media outreach and website updates.
  • This role involves providing support in various written assignments, including but not limited to:
    • Crafting and editing grant submissions to secure funding for projects.
    • Compiling engaging program newsletters to update stakeholders on recent developments and achievements.
    • Assisting in the preparation of detailed quarterly reports to track progress and outcomes.
    • Collaborating on other written communication materials as required by the team.
    • Responsible for contractual requirements including: reporting. status logs, document management, managing meetings (including scheduling, preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, assigning and tracking due-outs, etc.),
  • Attend meetings and site visits as applicable.
  • Develop a system to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead/assist with marketing efforts, such as proposal writing and participating in business development and marketing events and activities.
  • Support an environment that fosters respectful, informative, and timely communication and collaboration across various functional areas.

What You Will Need:

  • A Bachelor's degree (in business management, communications, engineering, landscape architecture, or related field) or the equivalent experience and working knowledge of sustainable design and project management principles related to site infrastructure.
  • Professional approach with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Sheets.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute within a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to manage timelines, delivery, and dependencies in a results-focused environment and influence outcomes without hierarchical authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross functional teams and establish collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to mitigate risk factors and resolve complex or unforeseen conditions amid tight timelines and high client expectations.
  • Readiness to lead by our core values:
  • Knowledge of mapping and coordination tools such as ArcGIS, and Bluebeam.
  • Training and/or experience in Race and Social Justice/Environmental Justice/Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suites programs including Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Express.
  • Experience with rendering or drafting software such as Rhino, Lumion, Civil3D or sim.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a strong plus. If not, must be willing and able to complete certification within the first two years of employment.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Education Equivalency

Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.

Position Location Requirements

The candidate shall work in our Seattle office in a hybrid capacity, two days minimum per week on location. The candidate will also need to attend other in-person meetings as required and should anticipate approximately 10% travel time throughout the year.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. This position is eligible for incentive payments if goals are met, aligning the performance of the position with the goals of the program.
