Job/Internship Description
The Dietrich College is seeking an entry-level research support focusing on AI and LLM technologies for educational tools, suitable for individuals beginning their academic and professional journey in technology and education. This position will contribute to foundational research efforts that explore the potential of AI and LLM in education, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in a cutting-edge field from the ground up.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Assist in basic research tasks under the mentorship of senior researchers, including data collection and preliminary analysis related to AI/LLM technologies in education.
  • Conduct simple literature reviews to support ongoing projects, compiling summaries and key findings with supervision.
  • Help in coordinating, organizing and maintaining research documentation, such as data files, references, and progress reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions, taking notes and learning from the research process and outcomes.
  • Support the research team with administrative tasks related to project management and execution as needed.
  • Begin to learn and apply basic programming and data analysis concepts with mentorship from team members.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a high school or early college program with an interest in Computer Science, Education, AI, or related fields.
  • A keen interest in technology and education, with a willingness to learn about AI/LLM applications.
  • Basic computer skills and eagerness to learn programming languages and data analysis tools relevant to research.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: This is a full-time position, expected to work 37.5 hours per week.
  • Fixed-Term: This is a fixed term position, expected to last through August 2024.
