Primary Responsibilities

In the role of an Electrical BIM Designer we'll count on you to:

  • Work with Engineers to create electrical and control design systems to a level of design (LOD) of 300 or higher based on equipment cut sheets.
  • Creation of Revit families.
  • Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, and sheets.
  • Produce discipline specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.
  • Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process. Clash Detection and conflict resolution.
  • Develop contract level Electrical systems building 3D models using Revit Model software computer-aided design software.
  • Assist design as directed by Electrical Engineers
  • Develop or modify deliverables based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or detailed verbal instructions.
  • Develop deliverables with necessary views, sections and details using Company and/or Client standards and procedures with supervision.
  • Learn and understand project and Company BIM Revit modeling standards and QC procedures.
  • Performs minor computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc. as assigned using calculation tools provided by Engineers.
  • Learn new BIM Revit modeling programs or processes required for assignments.
  • Continuously evaluates methods used to accomplish the activities they have been assigned.
  • Ensures that the deliverables are compliant with QC comments in Bluebeam Studio Sessions and updating status to corrected/changes made/updated.
  • Effectively communicating and corresponding with team members in person or using Teams, Webex, Zoom meeting platforms.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Revit BIM 3D electrical modeling experience
  • Other skills desired include AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides.
  • Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
  • Basic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • Electrical Design/Drafting experience in Revit electrical systems modeling is preferred
  • Good working knowledge of PDF Creation software (Bluebeam Revu) and Bluebeam Studio Sessions use as part of the QC process.
  • Willing and knowledgeable to do AutoCAD 2022 or later edition drafting in addition to Revit 3D electrical modeling.
  • Willing to learn Lighting Design AGI 32 software.

The expected compensation range for this position is $31 - $44 hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
