Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to look for opportunities within key business measures to determine future business growth opportunities
  • Develop positive, long term supplier relations to enhance the reputation of Columbia Distributing and support future business growth
  • Work with individual non-core suppliers to achieve mutual business targets, coordinate specialized marketing programs, manage marketing budgets and confirm all partners understand profit and volume strategies
  • Disseminate key business information across all Sales Teams, trade channels and product groups
  • Monitor external and internal tactical pricing programs and initiate/suggest changes to ensure category competitiveness
  • Work with the pricing analyst manager to ensure accuracy of new items and beer pricing posted correctly from our suppliers within the guidelines of the WSLCB
  • Coordinate the publication of the monthly price books
  • Manage reporting for all sales, revenue, distribution, and other key business measurement needs of the senior sales management team and suppliers
  • Partner with senior leadership to create, publish, and track all monthly incentives
  • Manage supplier incentive bill-back process to ensure bill-backs occur within 30 days of incentive end
  • Partner with senior management, human resources and suppliers to create an annual sales training calendar to enhance the development of our people
  • Facilitate communication with Young's Columbia regarding combo sales routes
  • Responsible for developing and managing the daily activities of the sales coordinator
  • Set the agenda and facilitate the weekly CDC senior sales management staff meeting
  • Manage special projects to enhance department effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others you come into contact with through your job

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Physical Demands

  • Lift/Carry and Push/Pull up to 165lbs.
  • Bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp
  • Use of industry tools: hand truck, six-wheeler, manual pallet jack, box cutter
  • Work indoors and outdoors
  • Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work vary and may include weekends.

Travel

Ability to travel throughout the day for visits to customer accounts.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance required -- position is subject to Fleet Safety Policy
  • Minimum of 18 years of age

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of related experience
  • Supplier or brewery experience
