Shipping/Receiving Associate

Monday through Fridays 8:00am - 5:00pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for shipping, receiving, and general stock handling in the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain shipping and receiving forms, records, and logs
  • Create bill of ladings, assemble shipping documentation, and contact carrier asneeded
  • Create delivery and post goods issued
  • Process any customer orders that arrive from production throughout the day.
  • Package customer product sufficiently to make sure it is protected during shipment
  • Process orders in the UPS system or other systems as required
  • Build crates used for product shipments as needed
  • Receive and unload incoming freight; oversee the opening and verification of content and quantity
  • Resolves shipments in error with procurement
  • Operates forklift or other power-driven equipment to load or move materials. Must be willing and able to become certified and perform the proper forklift techniques.
  • Follow approved procedures in receiving, material storage, shipping preparation, order picking, and order staging.
  • Deliver outgoing product as required (Drive company truck).
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, workstations area neat and orderly; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION

Fork Truck Certification.

Education and Experience

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid license, a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a chauffer's license/DOT Card is required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred
  • Previous experience with UPS, FedEx preferred
  • Previous experience with document control and validation
  • Experience with SAP or an ERP preferred

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
