Bulk Flour Loader - Kansas City, MO
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for receiving, loading/unloading trucks and railcars, testing, cleaning, operating and maintaining bulk loading areas.


Shift hours:

  • 8-hour shifts - shift schedule rotation every 4 weeks
    • 1st shift: 7 am to 3 pm
    • 2nd shift: 3 pm to 11 pm
    • 3rd shift: 11 pm to 7 am
    • Rotation is 4 weeks on 1st shift, then 4 weeks on 3rd shift, then 4 weeks on 2nd shift
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week


Pay:

  • $24.56 per hour
  • Shift differential
    • Additional $.55 per hour for hours worked on 2nd shift and 3rd shift

About our Location:

The Kansas City plant provides job growth opportunities in most departments and promotes positive relationships throughout the facility, fostering a collaborative work environment and it has an employee club within the premises.
The plant organizes holiday dinners for Christmas and Thanksgiving, where hams and turkeys are distributed to employees. Additionally, employees have the opportunity to attend various events such as Chiefs games, Royals
games, dinner theaters, plays, and World of Fun visits, with some tickets provided to each employee.

What your day will look like:

    • Responsible for learning and operating all packaging lines
    • Performing preventive and reactive maintenance activities within capabilities on packaging department equipment and assist maintenance as needed with higher level tasks, including work order creation
    • Performing all necessary quality checks of the products produced in the packaging department including HACCP checks, seal tests, weight tests, code dating, metal detector, check-weigher, in-line magnets and code dater checks
    • Maintaining written documentation
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
    • Assist in training new employees

What you have to offer:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of machine operating experience
  • At least 1-2 years of mechanical and/or technical experience in manufacturing or related industry preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willing to work outside in inclement weather climbing on and loading trucks with bulk flour
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
